In Ghana, there is still a strong need for support in many areas of healthcare. Since 1998, our Orthopedic Aid Projects Foundation has been dedicated to helping children with physical disabilities. For these children, access to orthopedic treatments and facilities is extremely limited.
Onze missie
The main problems involve severe deformities of the legs, often caused by untreated congenital conditions, the after-effects of polio, severe clubfoot, or spasticity. These children can hardly walk, which means they cannot attend school, have no prospects for the future, and are unable to contribute to society. As a result, they are often considered, and treated, as outcasts.
Most of these conditions can be fully corrected or significantly improved through orthopedic surgery and/or supportive devices. That is why the mission of our foundation is clear: to quite literally help children with physical disabilities get back on their feet, giving them both a better quality of life and a future, something every child has a right to.
